The third new Austen-themed novel to debut this month is Persuade Me which was just officially released on 15 September. Written by English writer Juliet Archer who occasionally blogs at Austen Authors , this novel is a modernisation of Persuasion and second in the Darcy & Friends series after successfully publishing The Importance of Being Emma a few years ago. For your information, she is planning to modernise all six of Jane Austen's completed novels so there are four more novels we can savour after this. Since then I have wanted to read her chick-lit novels as a diversion from consuming only Austenesque reads. After checking the synopsis of Wish You Were Here , I found parallels between this book and Jane Austen's Persuasion except that the roles are slightly reversed. The novel focuses on Beth Allen and her former love Jack Thornfield who broke her heart eight years ago. Besides Heather Lynn Rigaud debuting her novel this month, Karen Doornebos is also joining the fray with a new Jane Austen-inspired novel titled Definitely Not Mr. Darcy published by Berkley Trade this week. Just like Heather, Karen is also a member of Austen Authors . The story is about a modern day American heroine who decides to participate in a reality dating show set in England to snag the heir of a grand estate, Mr Wrightman (Mr Darcy of the show) and the one-hundred-thousand-dollar prize money which is something like the popular reality television game show The Bachelor .
