Persuade Me Giveaways for September 2011

The third new Austen-themed novel to debut this month is Persuade Me which was just officially released on 15 September. Written by English writer Juliet Archer who occasionally blogs at Austen Authors, this novel is a modernisation of Persuasion and second in the Darcy & Friends series after successfully publishing The Importance of Being Emma a few years ago. For your information, she is planning to modernise all six of Jane Austen's completed novels so there are four more novels we can savour after this.

As with Heather and Karen, Juliet is virtually touring some well-known Austenite blogs as part of her promotional campaign to introduce her new novel to Austen lovers. Mr. Darcy and the Secret of Becoming a Gentleman: Book Review

Rating: ★★★★★/★★★★★ After enduring a not very likeable Austenesque fiction in Karen V. Wasylowski's Darcy and Fitzwilliam which was reviewed several months ago, I was a little wary of reading any Austen-themed novels which caught my fancy because of its beautifully designed covers. After my colleague recommend me to try Maria Hamilton's debut novel, I made up my mind to read it next. It proved to be a wise choice for I spend many hours perusing this delightful Pride and Prejudice what-if story. Mr. Darcy and the Secret of Becoming a Gentleman begins after Fitzwilliam Darcy's disastrous marriage proposal to Elizabeth Bennet in Hunsford Parsonage, Kent.
