After releasing Schemes of Felicity novella as part of the Skirmish & Scandal series last year, author Suzan Lauder (Alias Thomas Bennet, Letter From Ramsgate, A Most Handsome Gentleman and The Mist of Her Memory) is back again with her fifth full-length Pride and Prejudice novel. As depicted on the cover of The Barrister's Bride, the plot features two suitors vying for Elizabeth Bennet's attention and they are none other than the Darcy brothers. Although the premise is quite similar with another variation called The Darcy Brothers, there are significant differences between the two.
In this story, George Darcy is the master of Pemberley with Fitzwilliam as his younger brother. Since second sons do not automatically inherit land and wealth from the father, he is obliged to make his way in the world by becoming a barrister in London with assistance from his late uncle and benefactor. The same uncle has even arranged a marriage between him and the daughter of his good friend. But who is the intended wife? Prior to Mr Bennet's death, Elizabeth's father had chosen a suitable husband for his favourite daughter They cannot form any attachment even though they are initially attracted to each other upon first meeting in Meryton. So when the charming George enters the picture, Elizabeth totally fell for the elder brother. After learning about her father's promise, will she go through with it and become the barrister's bride?
If the blurb intrigues you, then you'll be delighted to know that the author is offering nuggets of information in guest posts, character interwiew as well as some amusing excerpts in the one-week blog tour (with a short break on weekends). Besides this her publisher Meryton Press is donating six copies of The Barrister's Bride in e-book format and an additional two e-books for the cover reveal post.
