Threads of Magic Giveaways for January-February 2022

Monica Fairview is well known in the Jane Austen fan fiction circle as the author of numerous Pride and Prejudice variations (Mr Darcy Seeks a Wife series, Mysterious Mr. Darcy, Fortune & Felicity and A Longbourn Entanglement) and sequels (The Other Mr. Darcy and The Darcy Cousins). In between she tried her hand at writing a steampunk standalone novel (Steampunk Darcy) and last year's gaslamp fantasy release, Dangerous Magic. She has continued to pen its sequel called Threads of Magic and together they are part of the Mr. Darcy's Magic series. There are plans to publish more books so do anticipate their arrival.

Picking up where the first book left off after Darcy has declared his love to Elizabeth, the couple still faces obstacles and challenges to defeat the French mages sent by Napolean. Although it is said in Dangerous Magic that their magic is compatible with each other, nothing can be further than the truth. In fact they are completely opposite in their characters and magical ways. Can they overcome their differences and learn to fully trust one another and at the same time defend their beloved country from foreign threats?

Although the online book tour has just concluded, you may wish to learn more about the story through the illuminating guest posts, informative interview, tantalising excerpts and reviews. There are also copies of Threads of Magic in e-book format up for grabs courtesy of the author. So check out the following blogs and leave a comment or fill up the Rafflecopter form to be in the running. Please take note that most of the giveaways have already ended.

Guest Post Thanks, Lúthien84, for having me as your guest today, on the blog tour for my newest book, The Darcy Legacy . I have often wondered how Elizabeth and Mr Darcy's courtship would have evolved, were it not for that ill-judged and so ungentlemanlike ' She is tolerable, I suppose... ' This is an angle I explored in The Darcy Legacy . What if their acquaintance did not start on the wrong foot? What if Mr Darcy did not hurt Elizabeth's feelings and her pride at the Meryton assembly — and if he did blunder, it was in a way that she co...

Today Amy D'Orazio is delighted to share with loyal readers an exciting vignette from her most recent release. You would surely root for Darcy to win his lady's hand after reading this. Take it away, Amy! This small bit is from the beginning of a Lady's Reputation , just after Darcy has learned the shocking news that Elizabeth Bennet will not marry him and in fact, does not like him very well. However, adding to his sorrow in losing her, he is also guilty for how his gossip has endangered her reputation. He is, in this scene, in London, trying to figure out how he can right the wrongs he has inadvertently made. Vignette Darcy's tailor had done an excellent job of things, fashioning a suit that Darcy thought look...

Then check out the details of the giveaway at the bottom of the post which include the author's books and two Jane Austen-related items. Excerpt Abigail and her father rode with the somber solicitor in a well-sprung post chaise hired for the occasion. They travelled for most of the day, on turnpikes and through toll gates, stopping to change horses and postilion riders at regular intervals, or to take a hurried meal at a coaching inn. Finally, they reached western Berkshire, its rolling hills and woodlands giving way to farms and chalk downs near its border with Wiltshire. They passed through the village of Caldwell, with a fine church, cloth mill and the Black Swan, which Mr. Arbeau pointed out as the nearest inn where they might sleep until they deemed the manor house...

The Meyersons of Meryton: Guest Post, Excerpt & Giveaways

Happy weekend, friends! How has your week been? I hope you will have enough rest and relaxation before you begin the next week. It is with sheer delight that My Love for Jane Austen welcomes fairly newcomer Mirta Ines Trupp to join us today. You may have heard that her recent release titled The Meyersons of Meryton is a different spin on Pride and Prejudice with a Jewish twist. I'll let her tell you more about the book and share some fascinating insights regarding herself. There is also an excerpt and a fabulous giveaway of five e-books to go along with it. Guest Post Thank you, Lúthien84, for your warm welcome. I am delighted to spend some time with you and my fellow Janeites. Unlike our beloved Miss Jane, I was not born in a scenic village in rural England. My family were neither descendant of landed gentry, nor were they Anglican. I was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina and am the granddaughter of Russian Jews who escaped the pogroms, poverty and famine prior to the onse...

A Short Period of Exquisite Felicity Blog Tour: Vignette + Giveaway

Welcome to the fifth stop of Amy D'Orzio's blog tour for her latest novel, A Short Period of Exquisite Felicity . The author is not a stranger to the Austenesque world as her previous Pride and Prejudice variation is last year's Meryton Press release titled The Best Part of Love . Without further delay, you are invited to read a special vignette prepared by Amy. Good day, Lúthien84. What a pleasure it is to share this vignette that I wrote for your readers at My Love for Jane Austen! I hope your readers enjoy this glimpse into what happened after Darcy's and Elizabeth's engagement. As one might imagine, Lady Catherine is not excited to hear about Darcy's and Elizabeth's engagement. A Short Period of Exquisite Felicity diverges from canon prior to her famous visit so of course, she had to have her say at the end when all had finally been settled! Vignette After the Engagement: Lady Catherine Calls On Elizabeth One more day. One more day, and he ...
