Rating: ★★★★½/★★★★★ After watching the Captain America movie several weeks ago, I am interested to know what goes on behind the scenes of creating this magnificent period piece in Marvel universe. I was not disappointed for there are many beautiful concept art illustrations included in this hardcover book which comes in a slipcase of the captain's iconic shield in front. It is a very striking image that beckons me to push this book up in my to-be-read list. This 240-page book begins with a forward by Rick Heinrichs, the production designer of this film and tells of his experience collaborating with the wonderful team headed by the director Joe Johnston. A brief history of Captain America's adventures in comic books follows and tells how he was retired after World War II before being resurrected several times into a modern superhero that we know and love today. Rating: ★★★/★★★★★ Since this novel was released in February of this year, I have put it in my pile of books to read but have not find the time to peruse it until now. Penned by first-time author Karen V. Wasylowski who also blogs on Austen Authors , I was intrigued by any stories that continue Jane Austen's wonderful tale of two people who loath each other in the beginning but grew to fall in love over time as told in Pride and Prejudice . However after reading some reviews on Austenesque blogs that panned Darcy and Fitzwilliam , I was a little wary to push it up on my list until I'm ready to go for something different. Most retellings in the world of Austenesque fiction focus on Fitzwilliam Darcy, the man of every woman dreams. Colonel Fitzwilliam is introduced in Pride and Prejudice as Mr Darcy's cousin but very little is known about him apart from what Jane Austen wrote. This is one of numerous stories originally published by the Brothers Grimm and many versions of it exist around the world as stated in the source notes on the last page of this hardcover children's book. As retold by John Cech for contemporary audiences, the story goes that there were twelve princesses who has always worn out their shoes everyday and the cobblers are busy completing new shoes for them. The king is perplexed by this situation since he has to foot all the bills. He decreed that anyone who solve this mystery gets to marry one of his daughters.
