A Season of Magic Giveaways for July-August 2022

There seem to be a gradual shift towards writing more Pride and Prejudice fantasy based stories among established Austenesque authors these days. This is evident with the publication of Maria Grace's ten books in Jane Austen's Dragons series and counting, Mr. Darcy's Enchantment by Abigail Reynolds, Monica Fairview's Mr. Darcy's Magic series and Mages and Mysteries by Victoria Kincaid just to name a few. Now Sarah Courtney has joined the club with A Disguise of the Worst Sort and her latest release, A Season of Magic. Along with the aforementioned writers, Melanie Rachel and Lari Ann O'Dell, the seven ladies founded an online site dedicated to promoting Austen-themed fiction with fantasy elements called Magical Austen.

A Season of Magic is set during the Regency era where Elizabeth Carlisle is in training to be as a skillful fire mage. Her parents are murderers and thus she and her twin sister, Jane are shunned by the magical community. After their magical abilities were inadvertently discovered, the Mage Council unwillingly offered Elizabeth a place in The Season, a magical university, to study and grow her powers. She also has to navigate a difficult marriage season to find a life partner given her unfortunate family background. Apart from that, she has to contend with fellow student Fitzwilliam Darcy spying on her every move and constant bullying from schoolmates. Will she be able to find a moment's peace?

If you wish to know more about this novel, Sarah Courtney has virtually toured several Austenite blogs to share her research with interested readers in informative guest posts. There are also entertaining excerpts to peruse and the opportunity to win an e-book of A Season of Magic when you visit and leave a comment on each of the links below.
