Maria Bertram's Daughter Giveaways for March-April 2022

It is a fact universally acknowledged that there are far fewer Mansfield Park-inspired fiction as compared to Pride and Prejudice stories in the publishing world. Thus it is quite surprising that Meryton Press announced that they are debuting the release of Maria Bertram's Daughter from a new author. As the title suggest, it is a Mansfield Park sequel that follows the childhood of the illegitimate daughter born to the divorced Mrs Rushworth.

If you have read Jane Austen's third published oeuvre, you may recall that Maria Bertram had an affair with Henry Crawford while she is still married to Mr James Rushworth near the ending of the novel. The product of the liaison is a young girl named Dorothea Henrietta Rose according to first-time novelist Lucy Knight. Growing up without knowing who her biological parents are, she sets out on a journey of self-discovery and find her place in the world. Along the way, she encounters the Crawford siblings and her maternal grandparents' family. Will Dorothea learn the truth of her existence? How will it affect her life?

As is the usual practice when one of their new title is introduced, her publisher has arranged for Lucy to go on an online book tour. There are an interesting array of enlightening guest posts and engaging excerpts to peruse. On top of this there are six e-books of Maria Bertram's Daughter offered to worldwide readers (plus two digital copies during the launch) but these giveaways have all ended.
