Lovers' Meeting Giveaways for February 2021

It has been some years since UK author Catherine Lodge last released an Austenesque novel. You may recall that she first debuted with Fair Stands the Wind for Meryton Press four years ago. Since then the retired lawyer and lecturer has stayed quiet until recently when her new publisher Quills & Quartos launched Lovers' Meeting. It is a Pride and Prejudice what-if that differs from Jane Austen's classic much earlier. In fact Elizabeth Bennet did not initially meet Fitzwilliam Darcy at the Meryton assembly so her prejudice against him was removed. Even so a great deal of happenings must occur before they can be together.

A short blog tour to coincide with the e-book release has just concluded but there is still time to drop by and comment. Besides getting to know the gist of this tale through the excellent excerpts and review and learning the historical background in which it was set via guest post, there is an opportunity to win a digital edition of Lovers' Meeting at each of the following sites. Rating: ★★★★★/★★★★★ After enduring a not very likeable Austenesque fiction in Karen V. Wasylowski's Darcy and Fitzwilliam which was reviewed several months ago, I was a little wary of reading any Austen-themed novels which caught my fancy because of its beautifully designed covers. After my colleague recommend me to try Maria Hamilton's debut novel, I made up my mind to read it next. It proved to be a wise choice for I spend many hours perusing this delightful Pride and Prejudice what-if story.
