A Consuming Love Giveaways for February 2021

Hot on the heels of Reckless, Headstrong Girl comes the publication of A Consuming Love, the fifth novella in the Skirmish & Scandal series. This time it is written by Kelly Miller whose previous releases with Meryton Press are Death Takes a Holiday at Pemberley, Mr. Darcy's Perfect Match and Accusing Mr. Darcy. Although there is nothing improper happening between the characters that inhabit the story unlike the other books in the series, most of the conflict occur internally.

Fitzwilliam Darcy is in a quandary. He is bewitched by the charms and intelligence of a certain lady that is beneath him in status and wealth. But that does not stop him from thinking about her all the time even though he has left the countryside where she lives. When he is obliged to go be in Elizabeth Bennet's company again, how will he fare? Does his feelings deepen for her until he is ready to offer marriage?

Rating: ★★★★★/★★★★★ After enduring a not very likeable Austenesque fiction in Karen V. Wasylowski's Darcy and Fitzwilliam which was reviewed several months ago, I was a little wary of reading any Austen-themed novels which caught my fancy because of its beautifully designed covers. After my colleague recommend me to try Maria Hamilton's debut novel, I made up my mind to read it next. It proved to be a wise choice for I spend many hours perusing this delightful Pride and Prejudice what-if story.
