Tempt Me Giveaways for September 2020

With Halloween arriving next month, now is the perfect time to publish Austenesque stories with horror themes. Looking back at some of the novels released so far, authors tend to favour writing vampiric elements over werewolves, zombies and other supernatural creatures. Some notable examples include Amanda Grange's Mr. Darcy, Vampyre, Vampire Darcy's Desire by Regina Jeffers and most recently Lari Ann O'Dell's Mr. Darcy's Clan. Joining the fray is Julie Cooper with her third published book Tempt Me.

If you would like to know how this Pride and Prejudice differ from the aforementioned titles, a mini blog tour has just concluded. Rating: ★★★★★/★★★★★ After enduring a not very likeable Austenesque fiction in Karen V. Wasylowski's Darcy and Fitzwilliam which was reviewed several months ago, I was a little wary of reading any Austen-themed novels which caught my fancy because of its beautifully designed covers. After my colleague recommend me to try Maria Hamilton's debut novel, I made up my mind to read it next. It proved to be a wise choice for I spend many hours perusing this delightful Pride and Prejudice what-if story. Mr. Darcy and the Secret of Becoming a Gentleman begins after Fitzwilliam Darcy's disastrous marriage proposal to Elizabeth Bennet in Hunsford Parsonage, Kent.
