The Journey Home to Pemberley Giveaways for August-September 2019

Joana Starnes is no stranger to the Jane Austen fan fiction publishing world. Having published eight Austen-themed novels and contributed short stories in The Quill Collective anthology series, she recently launched a new Pride and Prejudice variation. If you are familiar with the original novel, you will know that the Gardiners together with Elizabeth initially plan to tour the Lake District which located in the northern part of England. However due to Mr Gardiner's business dealings, their vacation is postpone and limited to Derbyshire county. What if they managed to visit the Lakes and encounter Mr Darcy? Thus that is the premise of The Journey Home to Pemberley.

Just like Elizabeth, Joana is also going on tour albeit a virtual one. You can find her at the usual blogs where she is promoting her work to Austenesque crowd. Get to know the story by reading some tempting excerpts, vignette and entertaining reviews. There are also several lovely prizes offered by the author that you should not like to miss which include a bag filled with an assortment of Austen-themed goodies.     Enjoyed the excerpt. Love how Darcy made his infamous comment for a good reason. I have a feeling that he is wrong thinking that his comment was not overheard by Elizabeth.

I think you should check it out as it is a relatively new concept that has not been fully explored on any Jane Austen's novels. Mr. Darcy and the Secret of Becoming a Gentleman: Book Review

Wasylowski's Darcy and Fitzwilliam which was reviewed several months ago, I was a little wary of reading any Austen-themed novels which caught my fancy because of its beautifully designed covers. After my colleague recommend me to try Maria Hamilton's debut novel, I made up my mind to read it next. It proved to be a wise choice for I spend many hours perusing this delightful Pride and Prejudice what-if story. Mr. Darcy and the Secret of Becoming a Gentleman begins after Fitzwilliam Darcy's disastrous marriage proposal to Elizabeth Bennet in Hunsford Parsonage, Kent. After thinking over her reasons for refusing him, Darcy decides to take her reproves to heart and tries to correct the mistakes that he committed in his past although unintentional done.
