The Colonel Giveaways for June-July 2019

Do you enjoy reading Pride and Prejudice stories that occur in a different era other Regency and contemporary time? Then you'll definitely love Beau North's debut novel, Longbourn's Songbird which is set after WWII. The author has just published the follow up to this tale by focusing on a secondary character who is a cousin to the male protagonist and a possible love interest to the female lead. If you haven't already guessed, he is Richard Fitzwilliam hence the title of this release. The Colonel also dwells into the life of his son, Ben Fitzwilliam, who learns about his father's past through Richard's letters.

A blog tour has commenced to build up the hype surrounding this companion novel. As usual, there are a handful of fascinating guests posts, enthralling excerpts and a review to read. Rating: ★★★★★/★★★★★ After enduring a not very likeable Austenesque fiction in Karen V. Wasylowski's Darcy and Fitzwilliam which was reviewed several months ago, I was a little wary of reading any Austen-themed novels which caught my fancy because of its beautifully designed covers. After my colleague recommend me to try Maria Hamilton's debut novel, I made up my mind to read it next. It proved to be a wise choice for I spend many hours perusing this delightful Pride and Prejudice what-if story.
