Darcy in Hollywood Giveaways for July 2019

Since releasing Darcy and Deception at the end of last year, Victoria Kincaid has been working on another writing project. The result is the publication of Darcy in Hollywood which is her second Pride and Prejudice contemporary romance. You may remember that her first attempt in penning this modern story is President Darcy. Just like his counterpart in President Darcy, William Darcy is a very famous and privileged man. But a scandal has jeopardised his acting career and the Hollywood royalty is looking to salvage his heartthrob status. This is where he meets Elizabeth Bennet, the daughter of the producer of an indie film in which he is starring in. How will their relationship take off from there considering that he nearly bangs his Ferrari into her?

Rating: ★★★★★/★★★★★ After enduring a not very likeable Austenesque fiction in Karen V. Wasylowski's Darcy and Fitzwilliam which was reviewed several months ago, I was a little wary of reading any Austen-themed novels which caught my fancy because of its beautifully designed covers. After my colleague recommend me to try Maria Hamilton's debut novel, I made up my mind to read it next. It proved to be a wise choice for I spend many hours perusing this delightful Pride and Prejudice what-if story. Mr. Darcy and the Secret of Becoming a Gentleman begins after Fitzwilliam Darcy's disastrous marriage proposal to Elizabeth Bennet in Hunsford Parsonage, Kent.
