Rational Creatures Giveaway for September-November 2018

If you have been following the buzz around the Janeite community, you may be aware of the upcoming release of Rational Creatures which is the third anthology in The Quill Collective. For this project, editor Christina Boyd has gathered a group of sixteen talented Austenesque authors to write short stories based on female characters found in Jane Austen's oeuvres. It is not only about the heroines we all love to adore but other secondary characters are put under the spotlight as well. Joining the likes of Elizabeth Bennet, Anne Elliot, Emma Woodhouse, etc. will be ladies of calibre such as Mrs Sophia Croft (Persuasion), Harriet Smith (Emma) and even Lady Susan, the saucy seductress of the eponymous title just to name a few.

Although it is due for publication only next month, the blog tour has already begun since last week. There is a wonderful array of inspiring guest posts, delicious excerpts, book reviews and author interviews that you can look forward to. In conjunction with the tour, a superb giveaway of 21 prizes which include sixteen books (one title from each of the contributing authors), all three anthologies in The Quill Collective series (The Darcy Monologues, Dangerous to Know: Jane Austen's Rakes & Gentlemen Rogues and Rational Creatures) in e-book or audiobook format and other Austen-themed gifts. Therefore make sure you comment on all of the blogs listed below to be eligible to participate.

Have you heard of The Lizzie Bennet Diaries which debuted on the web a couple of months ago? I think you should check it out as it is a relatively new concept that has not been fully explored on any Jane Austen's novels. Austenesque Book Giveaways for 14-20 March 2011

Mr. Darcy and the Secret of Becoming a Gentleman: Book Review

Rating: ★★★★★/★★★★★ After enduring a not very likeable Austenesque fiction in Karen V. Wasylowski's Darcy and Fitzwilliam which was reviewed several months ago, I was a little wary of reading any Austen-themed novels which caught my fancy because of its beautifully designed covers. After my colleague recommend me to try Maria Hamilton's debut novel, I made up my mind to read it next. It proved to be a wise choice for I spend many hours perusing this delightful Pride and Prejudice what-if story. Mr. Darcy and the Secret of Becoming a Gentleman begins after Fitzwilliam Darcy's disastrous marriage proposal to Elizabeth Bennet in Hunsford Parsonage, Kent. After thinking over her reasons for refusing him, Darcy decides to take her reproves to heart and tries to correct the mistakes that he committed in his past although unintentional done.
