Obstacles Giveaways for September 2018

Pride and Prejudice can easily translate well into our contemporary world as the themes present in Jane Austen's masterpiece are universal. Many authors have attempted to adapt the novel with varying degrees of success. But one particular standout is debut author Belén Paccagnella's Obstacles which was just released early this month. Setting her story in the competitive world of equestrian sport is a unique take on the beloved characters created by Ms Austen in my opinion.

As with all other authors published under Meryton Press, Belén is embarking on a virtual tour to popular Austenesque blogs. You can expect to read guest post, excerpts, vignettes or outtakes, book reviews and interviews with the author and a character. On top of that the publisher is sponsoring eight e-book editions of Obstacles throughout the blog tour. Thus do check out all the following scheduled stops.

Rating: ★★★★★/★★★★★ After enduring a not very likeable Austenesque fiction in Karen V. Wasylowski's Darcy and Fitzwilliam which was reviewed several months ago, I was a little wary of reading any Austen-themed novels which caught my fancy because of its beautifully designed covers. After my colleague recommend me to try Maria Hamilton's debut novel, I made up my mind to read it next. It proved to be a wise choice for I spend many hours perusing this delightful Pride and Prejudice what-if story.
