In Good Conscience Giveaways for August-September 2018

Author Cat Gardiner is well known in the Austenesque circles for writing historical romances set in the WWII era (A Moment Forever, Undercover and Memories of Old Antique Shop series) and modern romances with a touch of Pride and Prejudice in it (Lucky 13 and Villa Fortuna). She has recently published the last book in The Conscience series which earned high praises from Janeites. Comprising of a novelette (Guilty Conscience) and three feature-length novels which are Denial of Conscience, Without a Conscience and now In Good Conscience, take a final bow with Darcy as the former Navy SEAL turned spy embarks on one last adventure to save his loved ones.

Rating: ★★★★★/★★★★★ After enduring a not very likeable Austenesque fiction in Karen V. Wasylowski's Darcy and Fitzwilliam which was reviewed several months ago, I was a little wary of reading any Austen-themed novels which caught my fancy because of its beautifully designed covers. After my colleague recommend me to try Maria Hamilton's debut novel, I made up my mind to read it next. It proved to be a wise choice for I spend many hours perusing this delightful Pride and Prejudice what-if story.
