Austenesque Book Giveaways for 17-23 August 2015

Another week has passed by which means there are new Austenite giveaways to look forward to courtesy of the Austenesque book scout.

Austen Authors' Regina Jeffers is celebrating the impending publication of the eight and final book in The Realm series. Read an excerpt from A Touch of Emerald and be sure to comment there for the opportunity to win one of two e-books of A Touch of Emerald. The contest closes at midnight EDST on Friday, 21 August 2015.

Besides this Regina Jeffers discusses the Peterloo Massacre and shares an excerpt from His Irish Eve on her blog. She is also offering an e-book of His Irish Eve to readers who leave a comment on her post. The deadline is also at midnight EDST on Friday, 21 August 2015.

Head to Mommasez..... as blogger Cindi Clubbs is hosting a giveaway for a copy of What Would Jane Do?. You are required to read her guest post on Roof Beam Reader's Austen in August and comment on the subject on her post with your email address. This contest is open to US residents until next Tuesday, 25 August 2015.

Have you heard of The Lizzie Bennet Diaries which debuted on the web a couple of months ago? I think you should check it out as it is a relatively new concept that has not been fully explored on any Jane Austen's novels. Mr. Darcy and the Secret of Becoming a Gentleman: Book Review

Rating: ★★★★★/★★★★★ After enduring a not very likeable Austenesque fiction in Karen V. Wasylowski's Darcy and Fitzwilliam which was reviewed several months ago, I was a little wary of reading any Austen-themed novels which caught my fancy because of its beautifully designed covers. After my colleague recommend me to try Maria Hamilton's debut novel, I made up my mind to read it next. It proved to be a wise choice for I spend many hours perusing this delightful Pride and Prejudice what-if story. Mr. Darcy and the Secret of Becoming a Gentleman begins after Fitzwilliam Darcy's disastrous marriage proposal to Elizabeth Bennet in Hunsford Parsonage, Kent. After thinking over her reasons for refusing him, Darcy decides to take her reproves to heart and tries to correct the mistakes that he committed in his past although unintentional done.
