Austenesque Book Giveaways for 1-7 June 2015

The Austenesque book scout is pleased to inform her loyal reader about this week's giveaways.

Austenesque Reviews's Meredith Esparza has reviewed Later Days at Highbury by Joan Austen-Leigh on her blog. She is giving away a former library copy of the hardcover sequel to Emma so leave a comment on her review to be counted in this international contest. The last day to enter is on next Monday, 8 June 2015.

Regina Jeffers is definitely on a roll. She has just released His American Heartsong, a Regency romance in The Realm series. Visit her blog and read an excerpt for she is giving an e-book of His American Heartsong to a lucky reader who comment there.

It is Pamela Dixon's time to blog on Austen Authors and she talks about the joys and challenges of becoming a writer. In addition she is offering an autographed paperback copy of either Lady Elizabeth or So Far Away to US reader. If the winner drawn from comments left on her post by Friday, 12 June 2015 is international, an e-book edition will be given instead.

An interview between Jennifer Joy and Janet Taylor is posted on More Agreeably Engaged. Lastly there is a fun post called Jurassic Austen on publisher Meryton Press blog where Jane Austen characters are mash-up with dinosaurs. They are giving away a winner's choice for one of their published books to the lucky person who play along and comment on the series of posts. The contest closes on Wednesday, 17 June 2015.

I think you should check it out as it is a relatively new concept that has not been fully explored on any Jane Austen's novels. Mr. Darcy and the Secret of Becoming a Gentleman: Book Review

Rating: ★★★★★/★★★★★ After enduring a not very likeable Austenesque fiction in Karen V. Wasylowski's Darcy and Fitzwilliam which was reviewed several months ago, I was a little wary of reading any Austen-themed novels which caught my fancy because of its beautifully designed covers. After my colleague recommend me to try Maria Hamilton's debut novel, I made up my mind to read it next. It proved to be a wise choice for I spend many hours perusing this delightful Pride and Prejudice what-if story. Mr. Darcy and the Secret of Becoming a Gentleman begins after Fitzwilliam Darcy's disastrous marriage proposal to Elizabeth Bennet in Hunsford Parsonage, Kent. After thinking over her reasons for refusing him, Darcy decides to take her reproves to heart and tries to correct the mistakes that he committed in his past although unintentional done.
