Austenesque Book Giveaways for 6-12 October 2014

The beginning of a new week brings more contests that you can participate in courtesy of the Austenesque book scout.

Maria Grazia has spotlighted Goodnight Mr Darcy on her blog, My Jane Austen Book Club. Head over to the post and read what it is all about and fill up the Rafflecopter form to win a hardcover edition of Goodnight Mr Darcy. This US only giveaway ends next Thursday, 16 October 2014.

Wendi Sotis is celebrating her new release of Pride and Prejudice story by giving away three e-books of Foundation of Love. Stop by her post and leave a comment and email address by midnight on Friday, 10 October 2014 to stand a chance at winning.

Meredith Esparza has written a slightly different review on Austenesque Reviews. Instead of books, this time she has reviewed a Jane Austen game named Marrying Mr. Darcy. Do leave a comment on the post if you want to win a copy of Marrying Mr. Darcy which is generously sponsored by the creator of the game, Erika Svanoe. The deadline for this US contest is on next Wednesday, 15 October 2014.

There is a second competition on Meredith's blog to win three Austenesque paranormal reads. They are a used paperback copy of Amanda Grange's Mr. Darcy, Vampyre and ARCs of Jane Vows Vengeance by Michael Thomas Ford and Janet Mullany's Jane and the Damned. So leave a comment here to enter this international giveaway which closes next Friday, 17 October 2014.

Next visit Laughing With Lizzie to read a fun review of a Jane Austen purse by Sophie Andrews and learn more of what Jen of Miss Bohemia is offering in her Etsy shop. If you like to be the winner of a Jane Austen purse, just leave a comment with a link to your favourite design on Miss Bohemia. Do include your email address and your colour preference (pink or black). This contest is open worldwide and ends on Tuesday, 21 October 2014.

On top of that JAFF writer Lory Lilian was interviewed by Sophie on her blog. Read the transcript because the author has donated copies of her books to four international readers. They may choose to receive the paperback or e-book edition of one of her four published works which are Remembrance of the Past, Rainy Days, His Uncle's Favorite or The Perfect Match. Have you heard of The Lizzie Bennet Diaries which debuted on the web a couple of months ago? I think you should check it out as it is a relatively new concept that has not been fully explored on any Jane Austen's novels. Mr. Darcy and the Secret of Becoming a Gentleman: Book Review

Rating: ★★★★★/★★★★★ After enduring a not very likeable Austenesque fiction in Karen V. Wasylowski's Darcy and Fitzwilliam which was reviewed several months ago, I was a little wary of reading any Austen-themed novels which caught my fancy because of its beautifully designed covers. After my colleague recommend me to try Maria Hamilton's debut novel, I made up my mind to read it next. It proved to be a wise choice for I spend many hours perusing this delightful Pride and Prejudice what-if story. Mr. Darcy and the Secret of Becoming a Gentleman begins after Fitzwilliam Darcy's disastrous marriage proposal to Elizabeth Bennet in Hunsford Parsonage, Kent. After thinking over her reasons for refusing him, Darcy decides to take her reproves to heart and tries to correct the mistakes that he committed in his past although unintentional done.
