Austenesque Book Giveaways for 15-21 September 2014

The Austenesque scout has some exciting news to share with her dear readers regarding this week's giveaways.

My Jane Austen Book Club is hosting a book blitz for the official publication of Erin Butler's Finding Mr. Darcy: High School Edition. Visit this post and fill up the Rafflecopter form to be in the running to win a US$10 Amazon gift card and an e-book of Finding Mr. Darcy: High School Edition. The deadline for this worldwide contest is on Thursday, 16 October 2014.

A paperback copy of Sense and Sensibility and Sea Monsters by Ben H. Winters is offered on Dark Jane Austen Book Club. Just fill in the Rafflecopter form on the post only if you stay in US and have a valid mailing address. It ends next Friday, 26 September 2014.

Marilyn Brant is celebrating the launch of The Road and Beyond, which is an expanded book club edition of The Road to You, on Austen Variations. Leave a comment on her post by 12 noon CST on next Tuesday, 23 September 2014 if you would like to win one of two PDF files of Double Dipping. It is open to international readers.

Do visit author Katherine Reay's blog because she is hosting a competition for one set of her novels. Meredith Esparza has written her thoughts on Mary Lydon Simonsen's fourth book in A Patrick Shea Mystery series titled Dying to Write on Austenesque Reviews. You may want to read the review as the author has donated a paperback copy of the novel for a US reader and an e-book edition which is open internationally. Have you heard of The Lizzie Bennet Diaries which debuted on the web a couple of months ago? I think you should check it out as it is a relatively new concept that has not been fully explored on any Jane Austen's novels. Mr. Darcy and the Secret of Becoming a Gentleman: Book Review

Rating: ★★★★★/★★★★★ After enduring a not very likeable Austenesque fiction in Karen V. Wasylowski's Darcy and Fitzwilliam which was reviewed several months ago, I was a little wary of reading any Austen-themed novels which caught my fancy because of its beautifully designed covers. After my colleague recommend me to try Maria Hamilton's debut novel, I made up my mind to read it next. It proved to be a wise choice for I spend many hours perusing this delightful Pride and Prejudice what-if story. Mr. Darcy and the Secret of Becoming a Gentleman begins after Fitzwilliam Darcy's disastrous marriage proposal to Elizabeth Bennet in Hunsford Parsonage, Kent. After thinking over her reasons for refusing him, Darcy decides to take her reproves to heart and tries to correct the mistakes that he committed in his past although unintentional done.
