Austenesque Book Giveaways for 1-7 September 2014

The following lists Austenite giveaways which the Austenesque scout has diligently checked out this week.

Jane Odiwe, author of numerous Austenesque titles, is celebrating the publication of Mrs Darcy's Diamonds on Austen Variations. Visit her post and leave your comments with a valid email address because she has generously sponsored two e-books of Mrs Darcy's Diamonds, two paste brooches, a cross pendant and a necklace. The jewelleries are inspired by designs worn during Georgian and Regency eras. The deadline for the competition is next Friday, 12 September 2014.

Sally Smith O'Rourke is hosting a giveaway for an e-book of  Jane Austen's First Love by Syrie James on her blog. Visit her post and fill up the Rafflecopter form by next Wednesday, 10 September 2014 to be in the running.

Next fifteen copies of Jane Austen Cover to Cover: 200 Years of Classic Covers by Margaret C. Sullivan, which will be published in November, are up for grabs on Goodreads. It is open only for US readers and ends on Wednesday, 1 October 2014. So login to your Goodreads account and request a copy before it is too late.

Have you heard of The Lizzie Bennet Diaries which debuted on the web a couple of months ago? I think you should check it out as it is a relatively new concept that has not been fully explored on any Jane Austen's novels. Mr. Darcy and the Secret of Becoming a Gentleman: Book Review

Rating: ★★★★★/★★★★★ After enduring a not very likeable Austenesque fiction in Karen V. Wasylowski's Darcy and Fitzwilliam which was reviewed several months ago, I was a little wary of reading any Austen-themed novels which caught my fancy because of its beautifully designed covers. After my colleague recommend me to try Maria Hamilton's debut novel, I made up my mind to read it next. It proved to be a wise choice for I spend many hours perusing this delightful Pride and Prejudice what-if story. Mr. Darcy and the Secret of Becoming a Gentleman begins after Fitzwilliam Darcy's disastrous marriage proposal to Elizabeth Bennet in Hunsford Parsonage, Kent. After thinking over her reasons for refusing him, Darcy decides to take her reproves to heart and tries to correct the mistakes that he committed in his past although unintentional done.
