Austenesque Book Giveaways for 25-31 March 2013

Welcome to another new week which brings more fantastic giveaways brought to you by the Austenesque scout.

Vic Sanborn is celebrating the 200th publication anniversary of Pride and Prejudice and her six millionth visits on Jane Austen's World by hosting three Austen-themed books giveaway donated by Quirk Books. The prizes are a copy of The Jane Austen Handbook in hardcover format and two paperback copies of Pride and Prejudice and Zombies. Readers from US, Canada and UK are eligible to enter by commenting on the post mentioning how you celebrate the Pride and Prejudice 200th anniversary this year. Deadline for this contest is next Monday, 1 April 2013.

In addition a copy of Maggie Lane's Jane Austen's World is given away to a reader from US. If you are eligible, you need share in the post's comment section about what you wish to know about Jane Austen's world that eludes you or will help you understand her novels better. It closes next Wednesday, 3 April 2013.

Cassandra Grafton, who recently published the first volume in A Fair Prospect trilogy titled Disappointed Hopes, was interviewed by Jakki Leatherberry on Leatherbound Reviews. Be sure to read the transcript for she is sponsoring two copies of Disappointed Hopes to worldwide readers who will get to choose whichever format they want. Just leave a comment stating what intruges you about the novel or a question for Ms Grafton to answer. Take note that there are additional ways to increase your chances at winning. Candy Morton has reviewed A Most Civil Proposal by C. P. Odom on So little time.... Read her review and leave a comment with your email address or twitter name in order to win a paperback copy of A Most Civil Proposal. This worldwide giveaway ends next Monday, 1 April 2013.

Author Sally Smith O'Rourke is featuring Jane Odiwe's talents on her blog. Come and read the post and fill up the Rafflecopter form to win an e-book of Searching for Captain Wentworth. This giveaway is open for one day only on Wednesday, 27 March 2013.

Laurel Ann Nattress has reviewed Candice Hern's Regency romance called An Affair of Honor on Austenprose. Read her review and comment because the author has generously donated a copy of the book whereby US winner will receive a paperback copy. If he or she is international, an e-book will be the prize. Your comment should mention what intrigues you about this novel or who your favourite character is if you have read it. This giveaway closes at midnight PT on Wednesday, 3 April 2013.

Have you heard of The Lizzie Bennet Diaries which debuted on the web a couple of months ago? I think you should check it out as it is a relatively new concept that has not been fully explored on any Jane Austen's novels. Mr. Darcy and the Secret of Becoming a Gentleman: Book Review

Rating: ★★★★★/★★★★★ After enduring a not very likeable Austenesque fiction in Karen V. Wasylowski's Darcy and Fitzwilliam which was reviewed several months ago, I was a little wary of reading any Austen-themed novels which caught my fancy because of its beautifully designed covers. After my colleague recommend me to try Maria Hamilton's debut novel, I made up my mind to read it next. It proved to be a wise choice for I spend many hours perusing this delightful Pride and Prejudice what-if story. Mr. Darcy and the Secret of Becoming a Gentleman begins after Fitzwilliam Darcy's disastrous marriage proposal to Elizabeth Bennet in Hunsford Parsonage, Kent. After thinking over her reasons for refusing him, Darcy decides to take her reproves to heart and tries to correct the mistakes that he committed in his past although unintentional done.
