Austenesque Book Giveaways for 17-23 December 2012

Good news for loyal readers of this blog for there are many giveaways and free books that you can win brought to you by the Austenesque scout.

Austenesque authors Gail McEwen and Tina Moncton has been invited Austenprose's Laurel Ann Nattress to talk about themselves and writing the third book in The Lord & Lady Baugham Stories titled The West Yet Glimmers. Read their guest post because they are giving away three Kindle copies of The West Yet Glimmers for international readers and an autographed set of three books in The Lord & Lady Baugham Stories open to US residents. You need to leave a comment asking a question on their books or state what intrigues you to read Austenesque variation or Regency historical romance. The deadline is next Wednesday, 26 December 2012 at 11.59 PT.

Sally Smith O'Rourke shares some of her Christmas memories in her interview with Maria Grazia at Fly High!. Read the transcript and comment with your email address and country of residence to be eligible to win a copy of Christmas at Sea Pines Cottage. US residents will be playing for a paperback copy while an e-book version goes to an international reader. The contest ends on Sunday, 30 December 2012.

Marsha Altman is launching Georgiana and the Wolf which is her sixth book in The Darcys and the Bingleys series over at Austen Authors. To celebrate this momentous milestone, she is giving away a paperback copy and three e-books to readers who leave a comment with your email address on her post.

Lastly, Brenda J. Webb was interviewed by Lieder Madchen on Songs and Stories. Brenda has kindly provided a print copy of one of her books to a US reader and an e-book version is reserved for an international participant. Just comment with your email address and your choice of book and format before it closes at 11.59 pm PT on Monday, 7 January 2013. Have you heard of The Lizzie Bennet Diaries which debuted on the web a couple of months ago? I think you should check it out as it is a relatively new concept that has not been fully explored on any Jane Austen's novels. Mr. Darcy and the Secret of Becoming a Gentleman: Book Review

Rating: ★★★★★/★★★★★ After enduring a not very likeable Austenesque fiction in Karen V. Wasylowski's Darcy and Fitzwilliam which was reviewed several months ago, I was a little wary of reading any Austen-themed novels which caught my fancy because of its beautifully designed covers. After my colleague recommend me to try Maria Hamilton's debut novel, I made up my mind to read it next. It proved to be a wise choice for I spend many hours perusing this delightful Pride and Prejudice what-if story. Mr. Darcy and the Secret of Becoming a Gentleman begins after Fitzwilliam Darcy's disastrous marriage proposal to Elizabeth Bennet in Hunsford Parsonage, Kent. After thinking over her reasons for refusing him, Darcy decides to take her reproves to heart and tries to correct the mistakes that he committed in his past although unintentional done.
