Austenesque Book Giveaways for 19-25 November 2012

The Austenesque scout is pleased to share the following giveaways that are available on the blogosphere this week.

Mary Lydon Simonsen is celebrating the launch of Mr. Darcy Bites Back her sequel to Mr. Darcy's Bite on Austen Authors. She has provided two e-books in Kindle or Nook to readers who comment on her post by next Monday, 26 November 2012.

DowntOnline is hosting a fabulous competition on their website. Simply leave a comment on their post to qualify to win a copy of The Chronicles of Downton Abbey: A New Era. The deadline for this worldwide giveaway falls on next Wednesday, 28 November 2012.

bookworm2bookworm's Blog is hosting a blogoversary celebration and is featuring author Marilyn Brant on Wednesday. Read a short excerpt from her latest release, Holiday Man, and enter the giveaway to win a copy of this book. If the winner is from US, he or she will have a choice to receive an autographed or e-book copy. International readers will be playing for the e-book version only. Diana John Oaks has been invited to guest post on Darcyholic Diversions. She talks about her journey of discovering Pride and Prejudice which led to a writing career. Her debut novel is One Thread Pulled and a signed copy of the novel is offered to a worldwide reader who leave a comment on her post.

Have you heard of The Lizzie Bennet Diaries which debuted on the web a couple of months ago? I think you should check it out as it is a relatively new concept that has not been fully explored on any Jane Austen's novels. Mr. Darcy and the Secret of Becoming a Gentleman: Book Review

Rating: ★★★★★/★★★★★ After enduring a not very likeable Austenesque fiction in Karen V. Wasylowski's Darcy and Fitzwilliam which was reviewed several months ago, I was a little wary of reading any Austen-themed novels which caught my fancy because of its beautifully designed covers. After my colleague recommend me to try Maria Hamilton's debut novel, I made up my mind to read it next. It proved to be a wise choice for I spend many hours perusing this delightful Pride and Prejudice what-if story. Mr. Darcy and the Secret of Becoming a Gentleman begins after Fitzwilliam Darcy's disastrous marriage proposal to Elizabeth Bennet in Hunsford Parsonage, Kent. After thinking over her reasons for refusing him, Darcy decides to take her reproves to heart and tries to correct the mistakes that he committed in his past although unintentional done.
