Austenesque Book Giveaways for 11-17 June 2012

The Austenesque scout is proud to present a weekly round-up of Austen-themed book giveaways which might interest her readers.

Maria Grazia has interviewed author Karalynne Mackrory at My Jane Austen Book Club. A paperback copy of the just released Falling for Mr. Darcy is offered to an international reader who leave a comment and email address on the post. Deadline to enter is next Wednesday, 20 June 2012.

It is Regina Jeffers' turn to launch the second edition of her Pride and Prejudice contemporary work, Honor and Hope, at Austen Authors. If you comment on her post, a signed copy of Honor and Hope could be yours. There are also more ways to increase your chances of winning by making connections through social network and filling up the Rafflecopter form.

Robin Helm has just released Legacy, the third and final volume in The Guardian Trilogy. To celebrate this joyous occasion, she is hosting a giveaway for two complete sets of The Guardian Trilogy at Jane Started It!. One US winner will receive all the novels in either Kindle, Nook or signed paperback copies while the other set goes to an international reader who can choose between Kindle or Nook. If however the winner has already purchased any of the books, Robin will send to anyone specified by the winner. An interview with Lady Catherine de Bourgh conducted by Jakki Leatherberry is now posted on Leatherbound Reviews. A paperback copy of Karen Aminadra's Charlotte is up for grabs when you participate in this worldwide giveaway. Maria Grazia is highlighting Summer Day's latest novel modernising Wuthering Heights for the young adult market at Fly High!. Meredith of Austenesque Reviews has written a glowing review of Still a Young Man: Darcy is in Love by P O Dixon. Mary Lydon Simonsen next blog tour stop for her latest release, Three's A Crowd, is at English Historical Fiction Authors. Read her guest post because there is a giveaway for two Kindle e-books of Three's A Crowd to readers who leave a comment and email address. Contest ends next Monday, 18 June 2012.

An interview with Shannon Winslow is available at Darcyholic Diversions. Comment on the interview if you would like to win one of two e-book of your choice. Make sure you do it before the winners are announced early next month.

Lastly, The Calico Critic's Laura Hartness has reviewed the latest Pride and Prejudice variation novel, Bewitched, Body and Soul: Miss Elizabeth Bennet, by P O Dixon. Laura will be shipping a gently used copy of the novel to a reader who lives in US. So if you like to win Bewitched, Body and Soul: Miss Elizabeth Bennet, make sure you fill in the Rafflecopter form available on her review before the deadline at 12.01 am EST, 8 July 2012.

Have you heard of The Lizzie Bennet Diaries which debuted on the web a couple of months ago? I think you should check it out as it is a relatively new concept that has not been fully explored on any Jane Austen's novels. Mr. Darcy and the Secret of Becoming a Gentleman: Book Review

Rating: ★★★★★/★★★★★ After enduring a not very likeable Austenesque fiction in Karen V. Wasylowski's Darcy and Fitzwilliam which was reviewed several months ago, I was a little wary of reading any Austen-themed novels which caught my fancy because of its beautifully designed covers. After my colleague recommend me to try Maria Hamilton's debut novel, I made up my mind to read it next. It proved to be a wise choice for I spend many hours perusing this delightful Pride and Prejudice what-if story. Mr. Darcy and the Secret of Becoming a Gentleman begins after Fitzwilliam Darcy's disastrous marriage proposal to Elizabeth Bennet in Hunsford Parsonage, Kent. After thinking over her reasons for refusing him, Darcy decides to take her reproves to heart and tries to correct the mistakes that he committed in his past although unintentional done.
