Austenesque Book Giveaways for 2-8 April 2012

The Austenesque book scout welcomes you to a new week with notices of special giveaways which will sure delights her readers.

Linda Wells has written a guest post on Nancy Kelley's blog with a generous giveaway of her latest two-volume Imperative novels to one reader. If the winner lives in US or Canada, the person is entitled to receive a paperback copy of Volume 1 or a complete set of the e-books. However the international reader will receive the complete set of Imperative in e-book format. There are four ways to enter this contest which ends at 11.59 pm PDT of next Tuesday, 10 April 2012 and check out how to do so on this post.

Deb Barnum has conducted the first part of her interview with Stuart Bennett, the author of The Perfect Visit and the transcript is available at Jane Austen in Vermont. There is a giveaway for a copy of his book if you leave a comment or question here or next week's continuation of the interview. The deadline for this worldwide contest is on Sunday, 15 April 2012 at 11.59 pm.

Angela Renee is hosting a DVD giveaway for BBC's Robin Hood: Season 1 through Royal Reviews. As the DVDs are encoded in Region 1 format, the giveaway is limited to participants from US and Canada. You just need to leave your name and valid email address in comment section of her post should you choose to enter the contest which closes on Monday, 30 April 2012.

Austen Author's Nina Benneton is participating in Authors in Bloom giveaway blog hop which is held from 9-18 April 2012. She is offering an autographed copy of Compulsively Mr. Darcy for US and Canada reader or an e-book if the winner is international. So leave a comment on her blog post before it ends at 11.59 pm EST on Wednesday, 18 April 2012. Do check out how you can increase your chances of winning at the post.

Author Laura Briggs was invited to guest post on Bab's Book Bistro where she talks about writing her modern Regency romance novel, Dear Miss Darcy. Do leave a comment by next Friday, 13 April 2012 if you want to win an e-book of Dear Miss Darcy.

Have you heard of The Lizzie Bennet Diaries which debuted on the web a couple of months ago? I think you should check it out as it is a relatively new concept that has not been fully explored on any Jane Austen's novels. Mr. Darcy and the Secret of Becoming a Gentleman: Book Review

Rating: ★★★★★/★★★★★ After enduring a not very likeable Austenesque fiction in Karen V. Wasylowski's Darcy and Fitzwilliam which was reviewed several months ago, I was a little wary of reading any Austen-themed novels which caught my fancy because of its beautifully designed covers. After my colleague recommend me to try Maria Hamilton's debut novel, I made up my mind to read it next. It proved to be a wise choice for I spend many hours perusing this delightful Pride and Prejudice what-if story. Mr. Darcy and the Secret of Becoming a Gentleman begins after Fitzwilliam Darcy's disastrous marriage proposal to Elizabeth Bennet in Hunsford Parsonage, Kent. After thinking over her reasons for refusing him, Darcy decides to take her reproves to heart and tries to correct the mistakes that he committed in his past although unintentional done.
