Austenesque Book Giveaways for 9-15 April 2012

The Austenesque book scout is delighted to present some wonderful book news and giveaways culled from blogosphere which might interest you.

Nancy Kelley is giving everyone a chance to download and read her debut novel His Good Opinion in Kindle format. This free download only happens for one day only on Monday, 9 April 2012. On top of that, she is also hosting a contest to anyone who help spread this wonderful news on Facebook, Twitter, blog or other ways that you can think about. Then leave a comment on her blog post mentioning the ways in which you have helped her by the end of the day. The prize is a paperback copy of His Good Opinion.

Deborah of A Bookish Libraria is hosting a giveaway of a US$40 Amazon certificate to thank her readers for their support. There are several methods to enter so head on over here to learn how you can participate. This marvellous contest closes on Friday, 1 June 2012 so there is plenty of time left.

Barbara Tiller Cole is participating in Authors in Bloom giveaway hop at Darcyholic Diversions. Read her post and leave a comment mentioning the reason you want to win her novel Fitzwilliam Ebenezer Darcy which she is offering.

Besides Barbara, Austen Author's Marilyn Brant is also joining the same giveaway hop. Austenesque Review's Meredith has reviewed Robin Helm's second book in The Guardian Trilogy, SoulFire, and is organising a giveaway to one reader to win the two books in the trilogy. If the winner lives in US, she will receive an autographed copy of Guardian and SoulFire whereas the international reader will get those two books in e-book format (Kindle or Nook). Just leave a comment here before the deadline which is next Thursday, 19 April 2012.

I think you should check it out as it is a relatively new concept that has not been fully explored on any Jane Austen's novels. Mr. Darcy and the Secret of Becoming a Gentleman: Book Review

Wasylowski's Darcy and Fitzwilliam which was reviewed several months ago, I was a little wary of reading any Austen-themed novels which caught my fancy because of its beautifully designed covers. After my colleague recommend me to try Maria Hamilton's debut novel, I made up my mind to read it next. It proved to be a wise choice for I spend many hours perusing this delightful Pride and Prejudice what-if story. Mr. Darcy and the Secret of Becoming a Gentleman begins after Fitzwilliam Darcy's disastrous marriage proposal to Elizabeth Bennet in Hunsford Parsonage, Kent. After thinking over her reasons for refusing him, Darcy decides to take her reproves to heart and tries to correct the mistakes that he committed in his past although unintentional done.
