Austenesque Book Giveaways for 19-25 March 2012

The Austenesque scout would like to introduce some fabulous Austen-themed book giveaways for this week only that you should take note.

Austenesque Reviews's Meredith is offering advanced review copies (ARCs) for four different titles which she receives from publisher for reviews to her readers. The titles are The Man Who Loved Pride & Prejudice, The Intrigue at Highbury, Mr. Darcy Takes the Plunge and Wickham's Diary. Just leave a comment here stating which book you would like to have. The good news is this giveaway is open worldwide and closes next Thursday, 29 March 2012.

Maria Grazia of Fly High! is participating in Spring Cleaning Giveaway Hop organised by I Am A Reader, Not A Writer. There is a selection of 10 books for two winners to choose two books each. One winner will come from Italy where she lives and the other is open to international readers. You need to be a follower and leave a comment on her post with your email address, country of residence and two books from her list. The deadline to enter is Sunday, 25 March 2012.


P O Dixon is offering her book titled Still a Young Man: Darcy is in Love as a free Kindle download for one day only on Tuesday, 21 March 2012. Click here to access and download it now before it's too late.

Have you heard of The Lizzie Bennet Diaries which debuted on the web a couple of months ago? I think you should check it out as it is a relatively new concept that has not been fully explored on any Jane Austen's novels. Mr. Darcy and the Secret of Becoming a Gentleman: Book Review

Rating: ★★★★★/★★★★★ After enduring a not very likeable Austenesque fiction in Karen V. Wasylowski's Darcy and Fitzwilliam which was reviewed several months ago, I was a little wary of reading any Austen-themed novels which caught my fancy because of its beautifully designed covers. After my colleague recommend me to try Maria Hamilton's debut novel, I made up my mind to read it next. It proved to be a wise choice for I spend many hours perusing this delightful Pride and Prejudice what-if story. Mr. Darcy and the Secret of Becoming a Gentleman begins after Fitzwilliam Darcy's disastrous marriage proposal to Elizabeth Bennet in Hunsford Parsonage, Kent. After thinking over her reasons for refusing him, Darcy decides to take her reproves to heart and tries to correct the mistakes that he committed in his past although unintentional done.
