Mr. Darcy's Bite Giveaways for October 2011

Besides Abigail Reynolds celebrating her release this month, her Austen Authors co-blogger Mary Lydon Simonsen is releasing her third novel for Sourcebooks this year alone and the final novel to be released before totally moving on to self-publishing route. Mr. Darcy's Bite is a paranormal Pride & Prejudice story where Mr. Darcy is a werewolf. It is definitely a perfect read for Halloween.

As is the case with her previous release of The Perfect Bride for Mr. Darcy and A Wife for Mr. Darcy, Mary will be participating in whirlwind of book blog tour to present her work to Jane Austen fans. There will be giveaway for several copies of Mr. Darcy's Bite donated by Sourcebooks and herself to coincide with this visit. Do take note that most of the giveaways are open to US and Canadian residents so please read the fine print first. Nevertheless, if you like her works you are welcome to leave your comment(s) as she would surely love to read your opinions and thoughts.

Have you heard of The Lizzie Bennet Diaries which debuted on the web a couple of months ago? I think you should check it out as it is a relatively new concept that has not been fully explored on any Jane Austen's novels. Mr. Darcy and the Secret of Becoming a Gentleman: Book Review

Rating: ★★★★★/★★★★★ After enduring a not very likeable Austenesque fiction in Karen V. Wasylowski's Darcy and Fitzwilliam which was reviewed several months ago, I was a little wary of reading any Austen-themed novels which caught my fancy because of its beautifully designed covers. After my colleague recommend me to try Maria Hamilton's debut novel, I made up my mind to read it next. It proved to be a wise choice for I spend many hours perusing this delightful Pride and Prejudice what-if story. Mr. Darcy and the Secret of Becoming a Gentleman begins after Fitzwilliam Darcy's disastrous marriage proposal to Elizabeth Bennet in Hunsford Parsonage, Kent. After thinking over her reasons for refusing him, Darcy decides to take her reproves to heart and tries to correct the mistakes that he committed in his past although unintentional done.
