Austenesque Book Giveaways for 11-17 July 2011

The Austenesque scout is delighted to share some excellent news on four Austen-themed book giveaways that is reported on the web this week.

Austenprose plays host to Jennifer Ziegler's blog tour in celebration of her young adult fiction Sass & Serendipity that will be officially released this week. Learn what she has to say regarding Jane Austen's oeuvre and her new Sense and Sensibility-inspired novel at her guest post. Do leave a comment here for an opportunity to win one of three copies of Sass & Serendipity on offer. Your comment must answer either one of these questions: "What intrigues you most about reading a Sense and Sensibility-inspired young adult novel?" or "Which is your favourite character in the original novel?". This giveaway is open to US and Canadian residents and ends next Wednesday, 20 July 2011 at midnight PT.

Vic Sanborn is hosting a giveaway at her blog, Jane Austen's World to celebrate Jane Austen's life on the anniversary of her death on 18 July. The prize on offer is a copy of In the Garden with Jane Austen. Leave a comment here mentioning the flower you will leave behind at her grave to be in the running to win this lovely hardcover book. Deadline for this giveaway is midnight EST of next Monday, 18 July 2011.

Historically Obsessed is having a giveaway for 1 finished paperback copy of Mitzi Szereto's Pride and Prejudice: Hidden Lusts that was released earlier this month. Proceed to this post to fill up the form. There are also additional ways to win this erotic novel. This contest is only for US residents and ends next Thursday, 21 July 2011 at midnight west coast time.

Lucy Inglis of Georgian London is giving away a copy of The Jane Austen Handbook. Just leave a comment here stating your favourite Austen heroine and the reason behind your choice. There is no mention of the deadline so do hurry.

Rating: ★★★★★/★★★★★ After enduring a not very likeable Austenesque fiction in Karen V. Wasylowski's Darcy and Fitzwilliam which was reviewed several months ago, I was a little wary of reading any Austen-themed novels which caught my fancy because of its beautifully designed covers. After my colleague recommend me to try Maria Hamilton's debut novel, I made up my mind to read it next. It proved to be a wise choice for I spend many hours perusing this delightful Pride and Prejudice what-if story.
