Austenesque Book Giveaways for 6-12 June 2011

After a hiatus of two weeks, the Austenesque scout is back and delighted to bring to your attention some wonderful news about four book giveaways for this week.

Austen-inspired author, Belinda Roberts has recently released her novel in US titled Mr. Darcy Goes Overboard. Her guest post with three copies of her novels as giveaways is up at Austenprose so take a peek here. To enter, leave a comment by midnight PT of next Wednesday, 15 June 2011 mentioning what intrigues you most about reading a Pride and Prejudice retelling or which of Austen's novels or characters you would like to see Belinda write about next. The bad news is contest is only open for US and Canadian readers because her publisher, Sourcebooks will be shipping them.

Marilyn Brant, author of According to Jane, Friday Mornings at Nine and the soon-to-be release A Summer in Europe is guest blogging on My Jane Austen Book Club to promote her new e-book titled On Any Given Sundae in addition to a bargain deal for the Kindle version of According to Jane that is affordably priced at US$2.99 as part of Amazon's Kindle Sunshine Deal sale. Over at Fly High!, Maria Grazia has interviewed Anne O'Brien whose novel, Queen Defiant has just been released this week in US. This is an international giveaway and ends next Tuesday, 14 June 2011 when the winner will be known.

Finally, Maria Grazia is conducting an interview with Cora Harrison on weekly column of Talking Jane Austen With.... Cora is the author of two young adult novels fictionalising the account of Jane Austen in her teenage years. Rating: ★★★★★/★★★★★ After enduring a not very likeable Austenesque fiction in Karen V. Wasylowski's Darcy and Fitzwilliam which was reviewed several months ago, I was a little wary of reading any Austen-themed novels which caught my fancy because of its beautifully designed covers. After my colleague recommend me to try Maria Hamilton's debut novel, I made up my mind to read it next. It proved to be a wise choice for I spend many hours perusing this delightful Pride and Prejudice what-if story.
