Mr. Darcy and the Secret of Becoming a Gentleman Giveaways for May 2011

Besides Susan Adriani's debut launch on 1 May, Maria Hamilton is also celebrating her book launch on the same day. Mr. Darcy and the Secret of Becoming a Gentleman is Maria's first novel and is published by Sourcebooks who is renowned for publishing Jane Austen fan-fiction. Previously available on the Internet with the working title By Every Civility in his Power, the story is about the Mr. Darcy who is devastated when Elizabeth Bennet refuses his hand and makes it his mission to change in order to win her affections.

Maria will be going on a promotional blog tour either to guest blog or answer interview questions regarding her novel. As with all Sourcebooks' Austenesque authors, there will be giveaways of several copies of her novel donated by her publisher. Rating: ★★★★★/★★★★★ After enduring a not very likeable Austenesque fiction in Karen V. Wasylowski's Darcy and Fitzwilliam which was reviewed several months ago, I was a little wary of reading any Austen-themed novels which caught my fancy because of its beautifully designed covers. After my colleague recommend me to try Maria Hamilton's debut novel, I made up my mind to read it next. It proved to be a wise choice for I spend many hours perusing this delightful Pride and Prejudice what-if story. Mr. Darcy and the Secret of Becoming a Gentleman begins after Fitzwilliam Darcy's disastrous marriage proposal to Elizabeth Bennet in Hunsford Parsonage, Kent.
