Austenesque Book Giveaways for 21-27 February 2011

The Austenesque scout is delighted to inform her readers about three giveaway for this week.

Deb Barnum, blog mistress of Jane Austen in Vermont has interviewed Louise Allen, author of numerous Harlequin and Mills & Boon Regency romance novels. Part one of her interview is posted here if you like to read what she says. There is a giveaway to win a copy of Ms Allen's non-fiction book titled Walks Through Regency London at the end of the interview. My good blogger friend, Meredith Esparza is hosting a giveaway for a brand new copy of Jane Goes Batty courtesy of Ballantine Books. Written by Michael Thomas Ford, this novel is the second book detailing Jane Austen's adventure as a vampire in the modern day. Just comment here with your email address to be entered. Lastly, Maria Grazia of My Jane Austen Book Club is continuing her weekly column of interviewing Austenesque authors. Although Adam Spunberg, her guest for this week has not written any Austen-themed novels, he is the co-creator of The Jane Austen Twitter Project with English author, Lynn Shepherd. There will be giveaway to win a copy of Lynn Shepherd's mystery titled Murder at Mansfield Park. Rating: ★★★★★/★★★★★ After enduring a not very likeable Austenesque fiction in Karen V. Wasylowski's Darcy and Fitzwilliam which was reviewed several months ago, I was a little wary of reading any Austen-themed novels which caught my fancy because of its beautifully designed covers. After my colleague recommend me to try Maria Hamilton's debut novel, I made up my mind to read it next. It proved to be a wise choice for I spend many hours perusing this delightful Pride and Prejudice what-if story.
