Author Interviews and Austenesque Book Giveaways for 9-15 August 2010

Over at My Jane Austen Book Club, Maria Grazia was graciously granted the opportunity to interview Ms Lynn Shepherd, author of Jane Austen mystery, Murder at Mansfield Park. Read the interview here to learn what she has to say in Talking Jane Austen with Lynn Shepherd Part I.

Meanwhile, Ms Syrie James, author of two best-selling fictional biographies which are The Lost Memoirs of Jane Austen and The Secret Diaries of Charlotte Brontë was recently interviewed regarding her latest novel, Dracula, My Love. The lovely blogger Meredith Esparza has meticulously posted the questions and answers on her blog. You can read it here and view the trailer for Dracula, My Love.

In the same post, Meredith also inform us that there is a giveaway today, Friday, 13 August 2010 at 1.00 pm PT/4.00 pm ET (US eastern time). Book Tours is hosting a Vampire Lit Twitter chat (#TLCbookchat) to talk on her latest novel. Ms James will also be participating to answer any questions that you would like to ask. Copies of Dracula, My Love will be given before, during and after the chat which I presume is for US readers. Do check it out if you are interested. Rating: ★★★★★/★★★★★ After enduring a not very likeable Austenesque fiction in Karen V. Wasylowski's Darcy and Fitzwilliam which was reviewed several months ago, I was a little wary of reading any Austen-themed novels which caught my fancy because of its beautifully designed covers.
