Austenesque Book Giveaway for 2-8 August 2010

From now on, this will be a weekly feature if I could find any contest from the blogosphere about Austen para-literature or from a different genre. In celebration of Anne Elliot's 213th birthday on 9 August 2010, the Crown Hill Writers' Guild is happy to giveaway one set of Mercy's Embace series written by Laura Hile to one lucky winner.

All you need to do is comment on their post with your opinion on who your favourite portrayal of Anne Elliot is. Don't worry if you have not seen any of the adaptations of Persuasion from 1971 BBC series right up to the latest ITV movie in 2007. The blog has put up a banner so that you can compare the actresses playing the role of Anne.

If you plan to enter, take note that this contest will end on Monday, 9 August 2010. The winner will be picked the next day by the author. So vote early to avoid regrets.

Rating: ★★★★★/★★★★★ After enduring a not very likeable Austenesque fiction in Karen V. Wasylowski's Darcy and Fitzwilliam which was reviewed several months ago, I was a little wary of reading any Austen-themed novels which caught my fancy because of its beautifully designed covers. After my colleague recommend me to try Maria Hamilton's debut novel, I made up my mind to read it next. It proved to be a wise choice for I spend many hours perusing this delightful Pride and Prejudice what-if story.
