The Road to Pemberley is a collection of a dozen Pride and Prejudice stories edited by Austen Author 's Marsha Altman who has also published four books in The Darcys & the Bingleys series. This is my third foray into anthologies with Jane Austen themes and I absolutely love the variety of stories that it offers. We get a glimpse of what life must be like for Mr Darcy and Elizabeth Bennet before and after they were married, Darcy's childhood, a totally different path for our favourite heroes and heroines from what Jane Austen wrote and finally retellings from the point-of-view of secondary characters. This anthology starts with a brilliant introduction penned by the editor where the phenomenon of Jane Austen fan-fiction is fully explained. Exactly 200 years ago, renowned English novelist Charles John Huffam Dickens was born today. Generally regarded as one of the most popular and greatest author in the Victorian era, he wrote sixteen major novels, numerous short stories, a handful of plays and several non-fiction works. Among his notable works that are still considered some of today's favourites are A Christmas Carol , A Tale of Two Cities , Bleak House , David Copperfield , Great Expectations , Oliver Twist and Our Mutual Friend . Austen tatious is Alyssa Goodnight's second published novel but her first offering to the Austenite world. It was released early this week and the story is about Nicola James, a young modern woman who came into contact with a magical journal inhabited by "Fairy Jane". Follow Nicola's journey into self-discovery when she takes the advice of "Fairy Jane".
