My idea of good company, is the company of clever, well-informed people, who have a great deal of conversation; that is what I call good company.

Would you like to have a share of the conversation? Or found any mistakes that need correcting? It would be very much appreciated if you leave a comment. Thank you for taking the time to visit My Love for Jane Austen.

I'll hand it over to Regina now. Guest Post In my latest release, The Prosecution of Mr. Darcy's Cousin: A Pride and Prejudice Mystery , Darcy's cousin Major General Fitzwilliam (the former Colonel Fitzwilliam from Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice ) suffers from what we would now call "PTSD". During the Regency there was no such distinction. The most one might consider as a diagnosis for the effects of many years in war was "melancholia". Yet, melancholia was also the diagnosis for the most s...

The Secrets of Darcy and Elizabeth: Excerpt & Giveaway

One of the joys of blogging about Jane Austen books and events is to discover new authors and learn about their novels which may have escape my notice. It is with great delight to introduce to you one such author who is new to the Jane Austen Fan Fiction scene. First, here is a short biography of Victoria Kincaid and the blurb of The Secrets of Elizabeth and Darcy followed by an excerpt from her novel. Author Bio Victoria Kincaid has a Ph.D. in English literature and has taught composition to unwilling college students. Today she teaches business writing to willing office professionals and tries to give voice to the demanding cast of characters in her head. She lives in Virginia with an overly affectionate cat, two children who are learning how much fun Austen's characters can be, and a husband who fortunately is not jealous of Mr. Darcy. A lifelong Austen fan, Victoria has read more Jane Austen variations and sequels than she can count — and confesses to an extreme par...

Aerendgast: The Lost History of Jane Austen Blog Tour: Guest Post and Giveaway

Ever since I heard of the publication of a new fictional biography of Jane Austen last year, I have been patiently waiting for its release by Meryton Press. Aerendgast: The Lost History of Jane Austen is officially available not too long ago and today I have the honour of introducing you to debut author Rachel Berman. Let's welcome Rachel and read her entertaining guest post on Jane Austen's men. There is a giveaway attached to this post so find out about how you can enter to win the novel below. The Definitive Ranking of Jane Austen's Men In celebration of my novel, Aerendgast: The Lost History of Jane Austen , Lúthien84 was kind enough to let me do a guest post here. Aerendgast 's heroine, Violet Desmond, is an Austen expert, guilty of that sort of female Quixotism that makes her wish more real men were like Mr. Darcy. Her partner in crime, Peter Knighton, is based (loosely) on Henry Tilney; so it's fair to say that I've had Austen's men on the min...

However, adding to his sorrow in losing her, he is also guilty for how his gossip has endangered her reputation. He is, in this scene, in London, trying to figure out how he can right the wrongs he has inadvertently made.
